South Africa’s new harassment guide employers need to know

According to the Code of Good Practice on the Prevention and Elimination of Harassment in the Workplace aggression, psychological abuse, GBV, racial abuse, and physical abuse are some examples of harassment that employers must be aware of to protect their employees. The new Code went into effect 18 March 2022 and replaces the Amended Code of Good Practice for the Handling of Sexual Harassment Cases in the Workplace. Employers are urged to familiarise themselves with the new guide to avoid getting in trouble.
